The woman behind Batcrap Crazy is Daffy and she has quickly become one of my favorite people to chat with via blackberry messenger and she is a great supporter of all that I do. I have been reading her blog for quite awhile but it wasn’t until her sister suddenly passed that we started directly communicating. I sent her a card and we started chatting. I absolutely adore Daffy and love her daughter. She can always make you laugh when you need to but I’ve also been fortunate enough to be let in to that inner Daffy and she is genuine, full of love, heart and just…good. She’s a teacher to heathens, a sign language translator, a mommy, a great partner to Irishman and that whole daughter/mother/sister thing. Oh and she’s a zumba do-er (and she does it for fun and for good causes) and a diabetes walker (because she has it). Daffy is someone that you need to get to know and she is someone that you must have in your life once she is in there. I adore her and I think she loves me back…if not don’t tell me and I will continue to live in my illusion.

and now here’s DAFFY!!!

I have no idea how I rock…in fact I’m pretty sure I do not and I can prove it. I’ve already come to grips with the fact that I will not be receiving the Mother of The Year Award for the Third year in a row and I’m perfectly okay with this. I know I am above this award *shrug*; so far above that they don’t even have awards for the awesomeness that is defined by my parenting prowess! (<—-ummm…thats the whole fake-it-til-you-make-it stuff)

So on our first full week of summer vacay last week Lil Duck and I take advantage of the beautiful humidity free weather and hit the zoo early one morning. It was a spur of the moment idea so I’m scrambling to pack a quick backpack of necessities because all perfect parents would’ve packed it the night before and had it sitting by the door ready to depart first thing in the morning. That’s what you would have done, right? *snort*

Lil Duck was occupying herself flitting around getting into whatever she could. Fast forward to the eatery at the zoo and lunch time. I pull out the small bottle of hand sanitizer and squeeze a dollop onto my hand in preparation of ridding germs from both myself and Lil Duck only it felt a little weird. Slick, silky, soft, smooth, odorless….very much lacking that strong burn your nose alcoholic fragrance that immediately relaxes germaphobes such as myself. Closer inspection reveals the bottle to be one said Astroglide NOT the travel size Hand Sanitizer I thought it to be when I snatched it off the dresser in the bedroom. Seems a certain little short person was playing in drawers she shouldn’t have been. #MOMFAIL –Minor

I have a MOMFAIL -Major but you’ll have to actually visit the pond for that one. Its worth it.

Thats the mom side of me…I have other sides unfortunately its usually my STOOPID that outshines everything else. I consider myself pretty well rounded and well versed. I’m not singularly stupid in just Motherhood, my professional work life and love life take frequent hits as well. There’s a reason my tag line is Putting the Ass in Sass.

BWhahahah ummm so I won’t give you a hard time about that if you won’t give me a hard time of using anal ease for teething pain.. and having one pissed off teen when he realized what the tube said when I used it for his teeth after oral surgery.. Oh he was NOT happy regardless of the fact that I only purchased it specifically for mouth pain and nothing else..

I must agree, Daffy pretty much rocks. That is absolutely hilarious mistaking lube for hand sanitizer! I can’t say I have any quick funny stories to share that compare to that ☺
