Candy making is an art, if you’ve ever watched classic candy made from scratch and by hand, it’s amazing. I love candy for those reasons, there is just something impressive about it! I still haven’t mastered it and I might never but, luckily for us Chet Enstrom did! Working in an ice cream factory by day and learning to make candy at night he perfected handcrafting sweet treats. He made the candy for friends and for gifts (what we all do who love to bake) and then started selling it. Within five years of deciding to start his business he was shipping toffee worldwide, amazing! Eventually the business was sold to another family member and today it is still a family affair in Grand Junction, Colorado. I’m hoping that when Chris and I visit his family in Denver I can visit one of the stores and watch how this candy is made. I could watch candy get made all day, I love it that much.

We were sent a one pound box of Enstrom’s Milk Chocolate Almond Toffee for review, this retails for $19.95 and comes in a box that is 7-1/2″ x 5″ x 1-1/2″. This will serve about 10 people or for the three of us it will last forever since we eat candy slowly. For my friend who need or want sugar free…they carry it! You can buy up to a 5 pound box of this toffee!

I love when you can look at a label and recognize all of the ingredients on it, that’s how it should be! This candy is made from; almonds, butter, sugar, milk chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, milk, chocolate liquor, soy lecithin, vanilla) and salt.
I love the chocolate coating on the outside of the toffee, it’s a nice creamy chocolate that leaves you wanting more! The toffee itself is buttery and delicious, reminding me of Grandparents for some reason. You get the crunch that you expect and the nuttiness and all around goodness. You can taste the love that goes into crafting these treats. I could do without the coating of almond bits on the outside but it does make it look very pretty. To keep your candy fresh and flavorful you can store it in the fridge or freezer, we are big on candy freezing around here! Am I alone? I feel like frozen tastes better and lasts longer.
But, don’t take my word for it! Enter below in the rafflecopter form for the chance to win your very own Enstrom’s or visit their site and fill up your cart with goodies!

I love chocolate and caramel together. That would just be a great item to watch all day.
I love how understanding my husband is. I’m pregnant with #2, and this pregnancy hasn’t been easy on me. He’s picked up so much of my slack and is doing the dishes, laundry, and majority of the housework in addition to taking care of me and our 2 year old. He’s amazing, and doesn’t complain about any of it because he realizes I would help him in a heartbeat if I could.
Thing #2 I love about my husband: his compassion. We met while volunteering for Habitat for Humanity on a college spring break trip. After college, I worked for two different nonprofits. Both places I didn’t have good pay or benefits, but I loved the work, and he stood by me, knowing I was making a difference in the lives of others. When his father would make cracks about me needing to find a “real” job (money & stature are very important to my father-in-law), my husband stood up for me. My husband didn’t care that I wasn’t rolling in money, he knew what I was doing was very important, even if I didn’t have the large paycheck to prove it. I’m so lucky.
Thing #3 I love about my husband: he puts family first. We’ve had some issues with our in-laws (his brother moved from WI to AZ and his parents have moved from WI to FL) taking off and then guilting us for staying put. Family is very important to us. It isn’t as important to them, which is sad. However, my family (and my extended family) has since “adopted” my husband and we’re always welcome for every get-together and every holiday. We just wish his family could feel the same way. My husband actually enjoys the days our daughter is sick when it’s his turn to stay home from work. He loves “daddy day care days” and cherishes every moment home with her.
When it comes to my husband he has stood by me when I had a major health crisis in our first year of marriage (I was diagnosed with DVT in the first 10 months). Then I went back in the hospital just before our first anniversary and the only way they let me out is that he had to learn how to give me a shot of a blood thinner. He did and was actually the best of anyone who gave me these shots. 11 yrs into our marriage I had surgery just before his birthday and I was released from the hospital on his birthday. It wasn’t the way he wanted to spend his birthday taking care of me but he did and that really meant a lot to me.
