I am so excited to let you know about Brinware! This company was started when concerns about toxic materials in kids products were expressed and Brinware started trying to find a way to help and be a part of the solution. Wanting to retain fun and take out the bad stuff; they became dedicated to making the most adorable, safest and responsible items you can find! I am loving this company because they use silicone and glass, yes GLASS for kids dishes!
Glass is used because it is free of BPA and has been trusted for years, the glass is tempered to give it lots of strength. Strength is a good thing when dealing with little hands! Silicone is a magical thing that will not retain odors, not petroleum based and doesn’t contain chemicals. As a crunchy momma, I need to replace all of his plates with these!
Nathaniel was sent (because really, they were sent to him, not me) a 2 Pack of Silicone Placemats which retail for $14.99, they are non slip (awesome!!) and measure 11″x15″. These are great, they don’t budge once you put them down and you can roll them up and take them anywhere. Nate really likes the alphabet and pictures printed on them because he can pick a letter/picture to put things on and we can work on which ones he knows while he’s eating.
He also received two sets of plates; a 2 Pack of Froggie Field Day/School of Fish and a 2 Pack of Garden Party/It’s a Hoot, these retail for $19.99 each and I think they are worth every penny. They wash beautifully and the design is on them from the bottom so you don’t have to worry about wear. Ours have literally been used at least twice a day over the past several weeks and have been through the dishwasher countless times and not a scratch, odor or stain! You can also buy singles plates for $9.99 if you don’t want two or don’t care for the sets!
Nathaniel could not be happier with his new dishes and neither could I. He is able to feel like a big boy with a non plastic plate and I know that they are safe, he also really likes the designs and that he can change the silicone covers to different plates. These plates are microwaveable and dishwasher safe, this is key in products for our house. Often Nate is having something heated in the microwave and since I have a dishwasher, I like to use it. My Paula Deen cookware is the only exception I make for that! I have even used his plates a few times, they are 7.5″ which means they are perfect for making my smaller portions look large, something to consider for my calorie conscious friends!
Brinware is making big kid plates that are safe enough for everyone! I am so glad that I was able to work with them and share with you all! Now, enter in the form below for your chance to win placemats and a plate of your very own!
