I announced yesterday that we are having a little girl and we could not be more excited about it. However, we would have been just as happy with a boy as we are with a girl. A girl is new and different which makes it a bit more exciting!
So I was expecting to hear:
Aww, one of each, how cute!
Nate will be a great big brother!
Congrats we are so happy for you!
What I was NOT expecting to hear?
Now you have a REAL family!
One of each, now you can stop!
Oh thank goodness, a girl!
I love my son and I would love two sons and I may be over reacting, which happens during these times, but, I was annoyed that people are already saying this out loud. Which is why I wrote this post, so you could tell me that those people are silly.
Hey look, it’s a picture!

Those people are sooo silly! Nate will be a great big brother
It was great to see you today, even if only for a minute! Can’t wait to hear from you about getting together soon!

I already mentioned this on fb, but this cracks me up! I come from a family of four girls and people always pitied my dad. He always said he couldn’t have been happier. I have friends with 5 boys and they might have 1 or 2 more – and your chances of having a baby of a different gender decrease statistically with each one you have of the same gender. Family – or your happiness with it – is not defined by the gender(s) of your children. If you haven’t heard it yet, the next response is the automatic assumption that you’re done because you now have “both.” I had a woman asked me if I was going to be “fixed” after my second, since I would have a boy and a girl!

Those people are RIDICULOUS! I can’t believe people say some things. Shame on them.
