Daylight Savings Time Means…

Share

Your child wakes up entirely too early, even too early for a non ‘fall back’ day.  This leads to me saying ‘snuggle mommy and grab the nook color’ while I doze on and off.

The morning is full of whining and several ‘if you don’t stop….you will…’ because, at least at my house, said child didn’t sleep enough the previous night.

It leads to an unusually worn out child despite his desire to nothing.  That could have also been residual germs, who knows.

I lucked out with a solid nap!!

It also led to very little bedtime battle even though he only made it to 7:30 (formally known as 8:30).

It also meant that once again today, he was up entirely too early!!

What happened at your house thanks to the ‘extra’ hour?

  1. My husband and I woke up far too early at 5:40am. I tried to get a bit more sleep and the hubs got up and got a few more hours of extra work done. I had such a hard time seeing the darkness come by 5:00pm. That’s the hardest part about fall for me.

    PS: Stopping by from SITS!

  2. UGH….I’ve been awake BEFORE the boys for the past 2 mornings. Like 4 am early. I don’t know what is wrong with me lmao. I am usually an early riser anyways, but this is ridiculous!

  4. It made my kids get up even earlier and naptime couldn’t come soon enough. The sun set here at 4:40 so they were begging for dinner by 5 and we don’t eat until 6. I really hate the time change.

  5. Not that there aren’t stages I’m happy are gone. I don’t miss teething, two-hour feedings, biting or needing to be carried everywhere. I’m neither Pollyanna nor a masochist. Babies are darling; I’m also glad I don’t have one anymore. Raising children isn’t all warm snuggles and charming memories. Parenting can be a long, hard slog.
