Oh yeah, we are going there because for all of my newly pregnant or currently pregnant or my trying to get pregnant ladies, we need to talk about it. Constipation in pregnancy. No one told me about it when I was pregnant with my son, Nathaniel, but I’m here to tell you about it now!
Avoid cramping, straining and {in most cases} the dreaded, evil, hemorrhoids that can plague pregnant women! I got them with Nate and it was MISERABLE!! I have not suffered any of these during my pregnancy with Abigail and I want to share how.
Water. Lots and lots of water. I mean, tons. I stop guzzling about three hours before bedtime so that I can at least try to help prevent several bathroom trips at night. I say try because Abby has a very large vendetta against my bladder so I have to pee a thousand times a day. Guzzling water also helps with swelling, with Nate I would swell like one of those capsules that turn into a sponge? I guzzled soda instead of water with him. If you hate plain water, try crystal light.
Stool. Softener. It is MAGIC. I take 2-3 each night. The more water you are drinking, the better it works!
Exercise. I know, I know, believe me I know but it really does work! It doesn’t have to be a massive sweat session, try 20 minutes of prenatal yoga or even a half hour of a stretching routine. It really helps get your bowels moving as well as relieve tension in pregnancy. I recently started doing this stretching routine every few days as well as her other third trimester workouts and I really feel tons better after the stretching.
That’s it, those are my three tips to avoid pregnancy pooping suffering!!

I got really lucky and didn’t have a whole lot of issues in any pregnancy with pooping.. however after delivering Doug and him leaving me tore from one end to another, pooping was the last thing I wanted to do. So I avoided it. That came at a high cost as well because the body will move it one way or another. I did not enjoy being brought to my hands and knees from massive cramping when he was a week old.. yeah and I tore out some stitches.. not the best idea I ever had.

Thankfully I didn’t have that problem when I was pregnant with my two. That problem happened after. Trying to poop after a c-section was a killer.

I love the picture! Made me laugh. The Greens make a huge difference for me. I’m a terrible pooper especially when I stop eating celery and blueberries

Before you get too crazy with the guzzling of the water, please read this. I did not know about this until my special needs adult cousin had it happen. It’s not good. They will be calling hospice tomorrow, because he is terminal. He vomited because of this, aspirated it, and got lung infection. please, please please,, go read..
ps.. unless you want to get super pissed.. don’t read the cases.. cause it’s kids who’s parents punished them by making them drink gallons of water.. yea.. pppppiiiissssseeed me off..
