It’s been two weeks since Abigail came into our lives! She is doing awesome, she sleeps really well and often. She wakes up at night to eat and then mostly goes right back to sleep, sometimes she will stay up and want to hang out for a little bit and other times she just doesn’t want to sleep in her bed so we snuggle in ours. We really aren’t co-sleepers but she is trying really hard to make it so!
I’m recovering well, I was stunned to be able to hop right out of bed with little pain at the hospital and when we came home I went [slowly] right up the stairs which was our biggest concern. After Nate I couldn’t walk up a couple stairs without lots of pain and it took awhile. I’m still having a pain pill at bedtime because if I don’t all the up and down and shifting around can aggravate my healing belly but I might take that down to a regular tylenol and see how it goes.
And since I made such a big deal about weight loss and diet control while I was pregnant, we have to talk about that! I have lost 25 pounds since my labor weight, 15.4 down from my pre-pregnancy weight and 42.4 down for overall weight loss. I feel amazing and I am so glad that I decided to really stick with it, at least until the last six weeks or so.
Lastly, the weirdest thing happened, before I had Abby the last six weeks I was CONSTANTLY craving junk food, fast food and soda. As soon as she was out, I wanted a salad and started guzzling plain water. We drink a lot of water anyway but it’s crystal light and I don’t even want that anymore. My usual 2-3 12 packs of soda habit I developed while we lived in the hotel is gone, I went through one in the last two weeks. I crave the healthier foods and it’s so crazy to me!
