Three Years of Blogging

If you can believe it, I know I can’t, this blog has been around for three years now!  And in true veteran blogger fashion, I forgot haha.

I didn’t know the amazing world that I was embarking into and I didn’t expect to fall in love with blogging the way that I have but I can’t imagine not doing it.  Sure, I take a break for a week or so every now and again when life gets busy or I feel like I don’t have anything to say.  There was a period of time where I was sure no one was even reading anymore but I always come back.  Blogging calls to me and tells me to tap the keys and get my thoughts out.  Tells me that I don’t just want to connect with other people, I need too.

Blogging has given me access to opinions, people and ideas that I would have never been exposed to before.  It has kept me sane during my worst mommy moments because I know for a fact other people have gone through what I am or are going through worse.  Thanks to blogging I have made several amazing friends that I will usually reach out to before people I know ‘IRL’.  Friends who don’t understand blogging will tell me that I can’t possible have real friendships through the computer but I do and I treasure them and would be so sad if we stopped speaking.  I’m invested not only in them but their lives, their spouses, families, kids and it doesn’t matter if we’ve never met face to face.

This blog started because I was home all day with a five month old and slowly losing my mind.  Now that five month old is nearly 3.5 and we have another baby on the way.  I didn’t have many parent friends around me (although they are all now populating the earth at a crazy fast pace!) and the ones that I did, we didn’t agree on parenting.  I was able to talk to other stay at home moms, moms, women and commiserate and celebrate our trials and tribulations.  It’s been amazing and I can’t wait to see what this next year brings!

It’s been ONE year!

Happy Blogiversary, happy blogiversary, haaaaaappy blogiversary!  To ME!

I can’t believe it’s been a year!  I have gotten to know so many fabulous people and know that I will meet more and get to know so many of you better.  Some people (don’t be sad if you aren’t on this, these are just the top few) who I feel like I have gotten to know really well and communicate regularly with are…

Boobies… She is an amazing woman whom I absolutely adore and gave the nickname Boobies.  We text, talk family and send each other cute pictures.  I can’t wait to actually hang out with her one day.

The Random Blogette… If you know her you know that she is funny and honest and hates her skin.  She has let me into her personal life and I consider her an IRL friend despite being online.  We recently exchanged numbers and I plan to text harass her soon.

CB… All I have is I heart your hooker face and love that I get to know Ashley and CB.  Both fabulous in their own way!

Carrie… we do most of our communication off the blogs and I love it!  You hook me up, we giggle and bitch and whatever else pops up.

Robin… If I lived closer I know we would hang out all the time!

The Crazy Subrurban Mom… I have loved talking parenting, makeup, retro, organization, whatever else we talk about.  You give me great advice when I’m doubting myself and made me feel like a fabulous mom when I was really doubting myself.

Now how about the FIRST post I did?  Babe was only 23 weeks in that picture!  Since then I am now 26, Chris will be 31 next month and he’s changed his job from a crazy employee hating one to a fabulous 40ish hour week, paying the same family friendly one that he loves.  No one was reading and no one was commenting.  I was so excited when I had my first follower, you all knew her as the hotflash queen.

Jalepenos and Your Vagina anyone?

And other things.  I’ve gone from zero readers to 297, then 292, then 296…you get the idea.  You can drive yourself crazy with followers and unfollowers so I try not to worry about it!

I have loved getting know all of you and sharing with you.  Crying with you and laughing with you.  I am so glad I decided to start blogging, I’ve managed to stay out of the drama and in your good graces.  Here’s to another year together!
