Awesome Pregnancy

Share

I’ve been bemoaning being pregnant for a few weeks now.  I was done around 36 weeks after I started to really feel pregnant.  A few days later the cramps and contractions started.  Now at 39 weeks 4 days, I figured I would share the ways that this pregnancy has actually been pretty awesome compared to my pregnancy with Nate because it really has been.

It took 36 weeks for me to genuinely feel pregnant.  I went from ‘meh this ain’t so bad’ to ‘holy mother of everything I’m a pregnant beast’ in about 3 seconds.

No fat face.  Or fat ass.  Or swollen feet and hands.  None.  Occasionally my hands or feet will swell enough for me to notice for about an hour and that’s it.

I haven’t had to stop driving.  I literally outgrew my car around the beginning of the third trimester with Nate, it was annoying but not impossible since I bloated like a beast so quickly.  I didn’t really want to go anywhere alone anyway.

I’ve only gained about 8 pounds this go around.  Nate was 50+ pounds.  EVERYWHERE.  I will share a picture of me at 40 weeks with him and 40 weeks with her on Friday, if I’m still pregnant then.

BP has been well under control with her but it was a hot mess with Nate.  I’ve still had to be on medication for it but it’s been perfect.

I haven’t spent my third trimester in June/July/August.

I can usually go all day long but last pregnancy if we were out for a few hours I would swell up to insane degree and I would be exhausted!

That’s really all I’ve got but it’s enough for me!

39. Weeks.

I know that I’m beyond adorable pregnant but I’ve  been pregnant forever now.  No credit for going over with #1 for me!

Weight Gain: +7.6 pounds very curious to see what my weigh does postpartum

Sleep: Same as last week.

Best moment this week? I totally thought of several of these and can’t remember them now!  They were probably lame family things since Chris was off all weekend.

Movement? She’s still very active, more rolling and nudging this week then full force kicking.

Labor signs? Same as the last two weeks…plus some light spotting, period cramps and back pain.

Belly button in or out? Still in.

What I miss? Not having cramping, contracting and vagina stabbing pain.

What I’m nervous about? The usual things; labor, having to fight the hospital, pain, having two kids, what the heck do I do with a newborn it’s been so long!

What I’m looking forward to? Holding Abigail, I just want her out to snuggle.  And of course, not being pregnant!

Also, we have a baby pool going on, cash and prizes to the winner! Info you may need, Nate was born at 42.5 weeks, 9lbs 2oz, 20.25″. He is blonde with hazel eyes.

It’s been causing me periods of cramps, contractions and stabbing vag pains for nearly two weeks now.  I can only assume she’s sloooooowly working on her escape from my uterus but, it’s going way too slow for me and so I started working on natural induction.  And yes, for those of you who know about pregnancy, 37 weeks was ‘too early’ to start trying methods but 37 weeks is also full term and this is my body and I will do whatever I want with it.  I am now 38 weeks, 4 days.

We have been trying…

evening primrose oil…it’s supposed to soften the cervis

sex…sperm is supposed to soften the cervix & orgasm contracts the uterus and releases hormones

squats

stairs

some walking, as much as I can, it gets painful {see above stabbing vag pains}

pumping…also releases hormones and makes your uterus contract

and more pumping…I’ve been getting about 3 ounces of milk each day so I have been freezing it.

bouncing on the yoga ball

spicy food

And that’s been giving me some extra contractions but obviously not enough to get things going and so the waiting continues.
